LORD CAPITANO is purpose bred for international show jumping. His Sire, the Elite stallion, VDL Cardento 933(Hol), needs no further introduction and his Dam is the magnificent Grande Isle(Hol) mare, Lady Isle. Unfortunately she never had the chance to compete due to an early injury. If born in Europe, LORD CAPITANO would never have been available in Australia. LORD CAPITANO has, from the very beginning displayed superior quality and ability. Both his mind and temperament are so calm, so cool. He jumped, no he flew with complete control, over a 2.5m wide by 1.5m high hedge when he was only 3 weeks old! Note that he had a passage right beside him, but his choice was calculated and clear. LORD CAPITANO has now grown into a most impressive (170cm) young colt and is ready to go on and become a World Class showjumping stallion. We naturally want him to be owned/campaigned by the best person/rider we can find. We hope the above video will help us toward that goal. The video shows glimpses of his early days, but mostly what took place in the morning of a very hot day. We took him out of his 10 acre paddock, away from his mates, to do some training and test filming. This was the very first time he was on the sand arena to try some small jumps on the lunge.
